BeeXpay Card Review: Fees, Cashback and Reload Costs

By

BeeXpay Card — Light KYC

BeeXpay Card suits people who want a dollar Mastercard for online payments, opened from Telegram with only an email address. With a 4% reload fee on light accounts, per-payment charges and no cashback, it costs more than most crypto cards for everyday spending.

Good

  • Sign-up with an email and password, no ID needed for the virtual card
  • Virtual card for a one-off $10 with no monthly fee
  • Reload fee drops from 4% to 2.5% after full identity checks
  • Available in most countries outside the US, the UK and Russia

Watch out

  • No cashback or rewards on any spending
  • A $0.25 to $0.50 fee on every payment on top of the reload fee
  • Physical card costs $100 and needs full verification
  • All fees are non-refundable, including the $10 issuance fee

BeeXpay Card is a prepaid Mastercard that you open inside Telegram, top up with crypto and spend in US dollars. The virtual card costs a one-off $10, each reload costs 4% (or 2.5% with full verification), and the card pays no cashback.

BeeXpay is run by Beextech Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong, and sells the card through a Telegram mini app alongside eSIM data plans and a crypto wallet. Your crypto is converted to dollars when you load the card, so the balance you spend is a plain USD balance.

BeeXpay Card cashback

BeeXpay Card pays no cashback, so the light and full verification options both earn 0% on every purchase.

BeeXpay doesn't run a points scheme, a token or paid tiers, and the two account levels differ only in fees and limits. There is nothing to unlock by spending more.

The missing rewards add up for regular users. At $1,000 a month of spending, a card paying 1% back would return $10 a month, or $120 a year, while BeeXpay Card returns nothing and charges a reload fee on the same money.

BeeXpay Card fees

BeeXpay Card charges a one-off issuance fee, a percentage on every reload and a small fee on each payment, according to BeeXpay's terms of sale.

The reload fee is the cost that matters most, because you pay it on all the money that goes onto the card. A light account pays 4%, so loading $500 costs $20. After full verification the rate falls to 2.5%, which makes the same $500 cost $12.50. If you reload $1,000 a month, verifying saves $15 a month, or $180 a year.

On top of that, each card payment in dollars carries a fee of $0.25 to $0.50. On a $50 purchase that is up to another 1%, so small payments are relatively expensive. Payments in other currencies cost 1.5% to 2% at the bank's rate instead.

The virtual card costs $10 and the physical card $100, both one-off, and there is no monthly fee. BeeXpay states that all fees are non-refundable once paid, including the issuance fee, so a card you stop using doesn't earn anything back.

BeeXpay Card ATM withdrawal fees

BeeXpay Card supports ATM withdrawals only on the physical card, and BeeXpay doesn't publish a fee for them.

The virtual card is built for online payments and doesn't work at cash machines or in-person terminals. To withdraw cash you need the $100 physical card, which requires full identity verification and takes about two weeks to arrive by post.

Without a published ATM fee, budget for the 2.5% reload fee on the money you withdraw and for whatever the ATM owner charges. Anyone who needs regular cash will find a cheaper route on a card with a stated free allowance.

Is BeeXpay Card safe?

BeeXpay Card is custodial: once you load it, your money is a dollar balance held by BeeXpay's card partners rather than crypto in your own wallet.

BeeXpay's terms of sale identify Beextech Limited, registered in Hong Kong, as the company selling the cards, and they are governed by Hong Kong law. The terms don't name the bank or program manager that issues the card, so you can't check the issuer's licence before you pay.

Cards come with 3D Secure for online checkouts, instant freezing and transaction alerts. BeeXpay can suspend an account or card for suspected fraud, a breach of its terms or a request from authorities, so keep only the balance you plan to spend soon.

Who should get BeeXpay Card

BeeXpay Card suits people who hold stablecoins, want a dollar Mastercard for subscriptions and online shopping, and would rather not upload an ID to get it.

For that job the $10 virtual card works, and the email-only sign-up is quicker than most regulated cards. If you plan to load more than a few hundred dollars a month, completing full verification is worth it, because the 2.5% reload fee saves $1.50 on every $100.

As an everyday card it is expensive. With a reload fee, a per-payment charge and no cashback, BeeXpay Card costs well over 2% of everything you spend, and the comparison below shows cards in your country that cost less and pay rewards.
