Hide Card Review: Fees, Cashback and Top-Up Costs

By

Hide Card — Visa Virtual

Hide Card suits people who want a virtual dollar card with no identity check and accept paying heavily for that privacy. A 2% deposit fee plus a 5.5% top-up fee costs about $7.50 on every $100 you spend, and the card pays no cashback.

Good

  • No KYC, just a name, username, email and password
  • Works with Apple Pay and Google Pay
  • Up to $100,000 can be loaded onto each card
  • Cards are valid for 3 years and you can open several

Watch out

  • 2% deposit fee plus 5.5% and $1 on every card top-up
  • No cashback or rewards on any spending
  • 5% fee to withdraw your balance back to crypto
  • Support runs only through a Telegram account

Hide Card is a virtual prepaid card that you fund with crypto and spend in US dollars, with no identity check. A virtual Visa costs $10 to issue, every top-up carries fees that add up to about 7.5% of what you load, and the card pays no cashback.

The service is built around privacy. You sign up with a name, username, email address and password, deposit Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum, Solana or another supported coin, and create as many virtual cards as you like from that balance.

Hide Card cashback

Hide Card pays no cashback, and there are no tiers, points or tokens that add rewards to your spending.

A physical card exists only for Hide Card's highest-volume clients, and its terms aren't public. Everyone else gets the same virtual card with the same fees, so there is nothing to unlock.

With no rewards, every fee you pay is a straight loss. On $500 a month of spending, a card with 1% cashback and no top-up fee would leave you about $43 a month better off than Hide Card.

Hide Card fees

Hide Card charges 2% on every crypto deposit and 5.5% plus $1 on every card top-up, according to the fee section of its terms.

The two fees stack, because you deposit crypto into an internal dollar balance, losing 2%, and then move money from that balance onto a card, losing another 5.5% and $1. Loading $100 onto a card therefore costs roughly $7.50 in percentages plus the $1 flat fee, and $1,000 a month comes to around $76 in fees.

Issuing a virtual Visa or Mastercard costs $8.50 plus a $1.50 processing fee, which makes $10, and the starting balance you choose carries the same 5.5% as a top-up. Other card types cost $11 to issue and 8% on each top-up. Cards are valid for 3 years.

Taking money back out is expensive too. Withdrawing your balance to a crypto wallet costs 5% and is processed by hand. Hide Card doesn't publish a foreign exchange fee, and all spending is converted to US dollars before it reaches your card.

Hide Card ATM withdrawal fees

Hide Card is a virtual card for online and phone payments, and Hide Card lists no ATM fees or cash withdrawal terms for it.

You can pay in shops by adding the card to Apple Pay or Google Pay. If you need cash from crypto, a card with a physical version and a published ATM fee is the better tool.

Is Hide Card safe?

Hide Card is custodial: your deposit becomes an internal dollar balance on Hide Card's books until you move it to a card and spend it.

According to its terms, Hide Card is operated from the Netherlands, is not a bank, and is not registered with De Nederlandsche Bank as a crypto service provider. Deposits run through a third-party crypto payment provider and cards come from an unnamed card issuing partner, so three companies sit between you and your money.

The terms say Hide Card doesn't review IP addresses in normal use but does cooperate with lawful requests from authorities, and will freeze accounts linked to terrorist financing or abuse material. All cards share one generic billing address, which some merchants will reject.

Support is handled only through a Telegram account, so keep the balance small and think of it as spending money, not savings.

Who should get Hide Card

Hide Card suits people who put privacy first and need a dollar card for online payments without handing over an ID.

The no-KYC sign-up, Apple Pay and Google Pay support, and a load limit of $100,000 per card are the reasons to choose it. Few cards with those three things exist, and the fees reflect that.

For anyone willing to verify their identity, Hide Card is hard to justify. A card with no top-up fee and 1% cashback would save about $86 on every $1,000 spent compared with Hide Card. The comparison below shows cheaper options in your country.
