Karta Visa Signature Card is a dollar Visa card that spends from a USDT balance in the Karta app. The virtual card costs a one-time 5 USDT, every payment carries a 1.5% fee, and the card pays no cashback. You top it up with USDT or USDC, which is free on most supported networks.
Karta describes itself as a fintech app, not a bank. The card is issued by Third National, and Karta's terms say it is meant for people outside the United States.
Karta Visa Signature Card cashback
Karta Visa Signature Card pays no cashback on your own spending, on the single Standard plan that every cardholder gets.
The only rewards come from referrals. Karta pays 500 Karat, which it values at $5, for each friend who joins and issues a virtual card. You also earn an ongoing bonus in Karat from your friends' card spending, with no monthly cap or time limit.
With nothing paid back on your own payments, the 1.5% payment fee is a straight cost. On $1,000 of monthly spending that's $15 a month, or $180 a year.
Karta Visa Signature Card fees
Karta Visa Signature Card charges 1.5% on every card payment, plus a one-time fee for the card itself.
The virtual card costs 5 USDT, and reissuing it costs 15 USDT. The plastic card is 99 USDT and a metal version is 299 USDT, both one-time, with shipping charged separately.
For payments in a currency other than US dollars, Karta's fee page says Visa adds a 1% international transaction fee, so a $100 purchase in euros costs about $102.50 including the 1.5% payment fee.
Topping up is free for stablecoins on Ethereum, Solana, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism and BNB Smart Chain. Tron (TRC-20) deposits cost 5.90 USDT, and bank transfers carry their own fees, such as 1% plus 2 USDT for SEPA. Withdrawing crypto back out costs a network fee of 0.9 to 4.9 USDT plus 0.1% of the amount.
Karta Visa Signature Card ATM withdrawal fees
Karta Visa Signature Card charges 2.5% plus 1 USDT on every successful ATM withdrawal, with no free monthly allowance.
A $200 withdrawal costs $6 in Karta fees, about 3%, and the ATM owner may add a charge of its own. A declined withdrawal still costs 1 USDT. According to Karta, withdrawals in other currencies also pick up Visa's 1% international fee.
At those rates the card is a costly way to get cash regularly. It works better for payments, online and through Apple Pay or Google Pay.
Is Karta Visa Signature Card safe?
Karta Visa Signature Card is issued by Third National, with Karta Finance Inc running the program, and Karta says your balance is kept in USDT in a Fireblocks wallet address unique to you.
Karta says you don't need to manage private keys yourself, but it doesn't say who controls the keys to that wallet or whether funds are insured. Without those details, it's sensible to keep in the app only what you plan to spend.
The balance is in USDT, a dollar stablecoin, so its value doesn't swing with crypto prices. The card terms set 0% interest on purchases for now, and Karta reserves the right to add interest later. Karta also sets spending limits that can change without notice.
Who should get Karta Visa Signature Card
Karta Visa Signature Card suits people outside the US who hold USDT or USDC and want a virtual Visa for online payments, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
The 5 USDT entry price and free top-ups on most networks keep the cost of getting started low. If you mostly pay online in dollars, the 1.5% payment fee is the only regular charge.
For heavy spenders the 1.5% fee is the problem. At $2,000 a month it's $30 in fees, with no cashback to offset it, so a card that pays cashback will cost less for regular use. The comparison below shows the strongest alternatives in your country.
Where Karta Visa Signature Card is available
Karta Visa Signature Card is available to citizens and residents of most countries, but not to US citizens.
Karta also lists countries where the card can't be used at all, whoever holds it: Syria, Iran, Cuba, North Korea, Russia, Ukraine and Venezuela. Karta asks applicants who aren't sure they qualify to check with its support team in the app.
