KAST Card is a Visa card that spends from a KAST account balance held in US dollars. The Standard plan has no annual fee and pays 1.5% cashback on the first $2,000 of spending each month, which is $30 at most. Paid memberships at $1,000 and $10,000 a year raise the rate to 2% and 3%.
Stablecoin deposits such as USDC and USDT convert to dollars 1:1 with no spread, so spending them at home costs nothing extra. Other assets, including BTC, ETH and SOL, are converted automatically at a token-specific fee that KAST shows in the app.
KAST Card cashback
KAST Card pays 1.5% cashback on the first $2,000 of monthly spending on the free Standard plan, and up to 3% on the paid Private membership.
On Standard, $2,000 at 1.5% is $30 a month, or $360 a year. Spending beyond $2,000 earns nothing, so the effective rate drops for anyone who puts all their spending on the card, to 0.75% at $4,000 a month.
Premium costs $1,000 a year, billed upfront with no monthly option. It pays 2% on up to $10,000 a month, which tops out at $200 a month. The fee works out to about $83 a month, so Premium only beats Standard once you spend more than about $5,700 a month.
Private costs $10,000 a year and pays 3% on up to $40,000 a month, a maximum of $1,200. You need about $27,800 of monthly spending just to earn back the fee in cash.
Premium and Private also earn 1% and 2% in KAST Points on top of the dollar cashback, which makes Private 5% by KAST's count.
KAST Card fees
KAST Card has no spending fee on stablecoin balances, but foreign-currency payments cost between 0.5% and 1.75%, depending on where you live, where the merchant is and which card program you're on.
At the top of that range, a $100 purchase abroad costs $1.75 in FX fees. Payments under $25 in a currency other than US dollars also carry a $0.10 fee, which is another 1% on a $10 coffee. A payment declined for insufficient balance costs $0.50.
The physical Standard card is free to issue but costs $40 for delivery, and some regions charge $2 for each Standard virtual card. Premium and Private include the physical card.
Spending crypto other than stablecoins isn't free. BTC, ETH, SOL and similar assets are converted to dollars at a token-specific fee shown in the app, so holding the balance in USDC or USDT is the cheapest way to use the card.
KAST Card ATM withdrawal fees
KAST Card charges 2% plus $3 on every ATM withdrawal, with no free monthly allowance.
A $200 withdrawal costs $7 in KAST fees before the ATM owner adds anything. On a $50 withdrawal the flat $3 pushes the cost to $4, or 8%, so fewer, larger withdrawals are cheaper.
Each withdrawal is capped at $250, with at most 3 withdrawals or $750 in 24 hours. Withdrawals in a currency other than US dollars add the FX fee. For regular cash needs, KAST Card is an expensive choice and works better for card payments.
Is KAST Card safe?
KAST Card is custodial: KAST holds your balance, and the card is issued by Third National.
Deposits sit in your KAST account, where stablecoins convert to US dollars 1:1 when they arrive, and the card spends from that dollar balance. Legally the card is a payment card with no set line of credit, so you can only spend what you have already deposited.
KAST has separate cardholder agreements for US and non-US customers. Because KAST holds the funds, it makes sense to keep on the account what you plan to spend and store long-term savings elsewhere.
Who should get KAST Card
KAST Card suits people who hold stablecoins and spend up to $2,000 a month by card, because the Standard plan pays 1.5% with no conversion fee on USDC or USDT.
At $2,000 a month the free plan returns $360 a year. If you order the physical card, the $40 delivery fee is covered by less than two months of full cashback.
The paid tiers are for very heavy spenders. Premium needs about $5,700 a month to beat Standard, and Private needs around $27,800 a month just to cover its own fee.
Frequent travellers should check the FX fee first. At up to 1.75%, plus $0.10 on small foreign payments, a card with a lower FX fee will cost less abroad. The comparison below shows the strongest alternatives in your country.
Where KAST Card is available
KAST Card is available in the US and internationally, and KAST checks eligibility through the country dropdown during identity verification in the app.
The US is among the countries KAST covers, with its own US cardholder agreement, while customers elsewhere sign the non-US agreement.
