Oobit Crypto Card is a virtual Visa card that pays directly from a self-custody wallet such as MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Phantom. Every payment costs 1%, with a $0.25 minimum, and Oobit converts your crypto to local currency at checkout. The card pays some cashback in crypto, mostly on the first $200 of payments each month.
Oobit's payment layer is called DePay. You connect a wallet, set a spending approval that limits how much Oobit can draw, and pay in shops through Apple Pay or Google Pay. Merchants receive local currency over the Visa network.
Oobit Crypto Card cashback
Oobit Crypto Card pays cashback in crypto, but Oobit doesn't publish a fixed rate, so the reward can't be checked before you spend.
Oobit's card page promises up to 10% off, and the FAQ adds the limit that matters: when you pay with any token other than OOB, Oobit's own token, cashback only applies to the first $200 of payments each calendar month. Paying with OOB raises that limit to $10,000.
For anyone paying in USDT, USDC or bitcoin, cashback therefore covers only $200 of spending a month. Rewards are granted 1 to 3 days after a payment completes.
There's one plan, Standard, with no subscription or staking tier. A separate points promotion multiplies points by 2x to 5x when you spend $250 to $1,500 within 90 days, and points convert to USDT.
Oobit Crypto Card fees
Oobit Crypto Card charges 1% of every purchase, with a minimum of $0.25 per payment, according to Oobit's FAQ.
The minimum hurts on small payments, since a $10 coffee costs $0.25 in fees, which is 2.5%. From $25 upwards you pay the flat 1%, so $1,000 of monthly spending costs $10 a month, or $120 a year.
In Brazil the fee is 1% with no minimum, plus IOF tax and FX charges, but Oobit doesn't list an FX fee for other countries.
Swapping one token for another inside the app costs 0.95%, or 3% when the token you receive is OOB. Sending crypto to another Oobit user is free.
Oobit Crypto Card ATM withdrawal fees
Oobit Crypto Card withdraws cash at contactless ATMs for a 2.5% fee, with no free monthly allowance.
You don't need a physical card: find an ATM that accepts contactless NFC, view your PIN in the app, tap your phone and enter the PIN. Each withdrawal is capped at $250, with up to three a day, so $750 is the daily maximum.
A $200 withdrawal costs $5 in Oobit's ATM fee, before anything the ATM owner charges. Identity verification has to be complete before withdrawals are switched on.
Is Oobit Crypto Card safe?
Oobit Crypto Card is self-custody: your crypto stays in your own wallet, under your own keys, until the moment you pay.
Oobit connects to the wallet through DePay. You set a spending approval once, which caps how much Oobit can draw from the wallet. When you pay, DePay settles the crypto on-chain and the merchant receives local currency through Visa. Because the approval isn't set per payment, keep it close to what you plan to spend.
In the US, Oobit's crypto services are provided by Bakkt Financial Solutions I, LLC, which is registered with FinCEN as a money services business.
Who should get Oobit Crypto Card
Oobit Crypto Card suits people who keep their crypto in MetaMask, Trust Wallet or Phantom and want to spend it without first sending it to an exchange.
The 1% fee is the price of that convenience. Someone spending $2,000 a month pays $20 in fees, and cashback only counts the first $200 of non-OOB payments.
If you already hold funds on an exchange, a card with no conversion fee will cost less for the same spending. The comparison below shows the strongest alternatives in your country.
Where Oobit Crypto Card is available
Oobit Crypto Card is available in 74 countries and territories, including the United States, the United Kingdom, most of the EU and parts of Latin America, Asia and Africa.
You need a government-issued photo ID, and sometimes proof of address, to sign up. Oobit says most checks finish within a few minutes, and some take up to 24 hours.
