Plasma One Card is a Visa card that spends USDT held in your own wallet. The free Lite plan pays 2% cashback on the first $500 a month, which is $10 at most, then 0.1%. Core costs $199 a year and Platinum needs an XPL lock, with rates up to 4%. All cashback is paid in XPL, Plasma's token.
Plasma One has three plans, starting with Lite, a free virtual card. Core and Platinum add a physical card, lower FX fees and higher cashback, and you unlock them with a fee or by locking XPL for 12 months.
Plasma One Card cashback
Plasma One Card pays 2% on the first $500 of monthly spending on the free Lite plan, which tops out at $10 a month, and only 0.1% after that.
Lite is generous up to $500 and close to nothing beyond it. Someone spending $2,000 a month earns $11.50: $10 on the first $500 and $1.50 on the rest.
Core pays 3% on the first $1,000, 2% on the next $1,000 and 1% on the third, then 0.25%. That's $60 a month at $3,000 of spending. Compared with Lite, Core's $199 fee pays for itself from about $900 of monthly spending.
Platinum pays 4% on the first $3,000 ($120), 3% up to $10,000, 2% up to $15,000, then 1% with no cap. At $15,000 a month that adds up to $430.
Core and Platinum also pay boosted rates at AI merchants, in place of the base rate: 5% on the first $250 of AI spending on Core, and 10% on the first $500 on Platinum.
Cashback is paid weekly to your XPL balance. XPL is Plasma's own token, so the dollar value of your rewards rises and falls with its price.
Plasma One Card fees
Plasma One Card has no conversion fee on payments, and its FX fee falls from 2% on Lite to 1.5% on Core and 0% on Platinum.
On Lite, the 2% is Plasma's 1% markup plus roughly 1% from Visa. Core cuts Plasma's share to 0.5%. A $100 payment abroad costs about $2 on Lite, $1.50 on Core and nothing on Platinum.
Core costs $199 a year, or you can lock 20,000 XPL for 12 months instead. Platinum has no cash price: it needs 100,000 XPL locked for 12 months. Both lock routes tie up tokens whose price can move while they're locked.
Lite is a free virtual card. Core includes a physical Visa Signature card, and Platinum includes one free physical Visa Infinite card plus Priority Pass lounge access.
Plasma One Card ATM withdrawal fees
Plasma One Card charges $2 plus 2% for a dollar ATM withdrawal, and only physical cards can withdraw cash.
That rules out Lite, which is virtual only. A $200 withdrawal on Core or Platinum costs $6 in Plasma's fees, or 3%, before the ATM owner's charge. Withdrawals in other currencies add an FX fee on Core but not on Platinum.
Each withdrawal is capped at $1,000, with three per rolling 24 hours. Balance checks and declined withdrawals cost $1, and withdrawals earn no cashback.
Is Plasma One Card safe?
Plasma One Card is self-custody: the USDT that backs your spending stays in your own wallet, and Plasma's card terms say neither Plasma nor the issuer holds custody of it.
The card is issued by Rain, a Visa Principal Member, and it works as a secured card. Your stablecoins are collateral, your spending limit equals their market value, and the charges you make are settled against them.
If charges exceed the collateral's value, or aren't settled within one calendar day of falling due, the issuer can liquidate the collateral to cover them. In practice that means keeping enough USDT in the linked wallet for what you spend.
Self-custody also means the wallet's keys are yours to protect.
Who should get Plasma One Card
Plasma One Card suits people who hold USDT in their own wallet and spend up to $500 a month on the free Lite plan, or around $1,000 to $3,000 a month on Core.
Lite's 2% on $500 is $10 a month for no fee. Core makes sense from roughly $900 a month, and at $3,000 it returns $720 a year against the $199 fee.
Platinum is for people who already hold a lot of XPL. Its 0% FX fee and 4% on the first $3,000 are strong, but the price is 100,000 XPL locked for a year. If you'd rather earn in dollars or stablecoins, the comparison below shows the strongest alternatives in your country.
Where Plasma One Card is available
Plasma One Card is offered under two sets of terms, one for US customers and one international, so eligibility depends on where you live.
Identity verification is required for every plan, so check eligibility in the app before you lock XPL or pay for Core.
