RedotPay Card — Standard

RedotPay Card suits people outside the US who want a widely available crypto card with a physical card and ATM access. Every payment costs 1%, the card itself costs $10 or $100, and cashback needs the $129 Pro plan plus Apple Pay or Google Pay.

  • Not available in the US, mainland China or Singapore

RedotPay Card is a stablecoin-based crypto card that spends from a custodial RedotPay balance. There's no free card: the virtual card costs $10 and the physical card $100. Every payment pays a 1% conversion fee, plus 1.2% in another currency. Cashback is 3% on Apple Pay and Google Pay, but only with RedotPay Pro at $129 a year.

The card holds eight assets, including USDT, USDC, bitcoin and ether, and works in 194 countries and territories. There are two plans: the regular account and RedotPay Pro.

RedotPay Card cashback

RedotPay Card pays no cashback on the regular account, while RedotPay Pro pays 3% on Apple Pay and Google Pay purchases, capped at 18 USDs a month.

That cap equals 3% of $600 of spending. Past $600 a month, Pro earns nothing more, and swipes of the physical card earn nothing at any level.

The cashback is paid as USDs, a RedotPay credit that can only be spent and expires after 30 days. You can't withdraw it or let it build up.

At the full 18 USDs a month, Pro returns $216 a year against its $129 annual price, a gain of $87. Annual Pro also waives the $100 physical card fee once and covers $1,000 a month of ATM withdrawals.

Pro can also be paid monthly at $12.90, which comes to $154.80 a year. That version only waives the $10 virtual card fee and has no ATM allowance.

RedotPay Card fees

RedotPay Card charges a 1% conversion fee on every payment, and 1.2% more when you pay in a currency other than the card's default.

A $100 payment in dollars costs $1 in fees, while the same purchase paid in euros or yen costs $2.20.

The card itself isn't free: $10 for the virtual card and $100 for the physical one, with standard post included and express delivery at extra cost.

Smaller charges catch some users out. Payments of $1 or less cost $0.20 each after five free a month, and declined payments cost $0.50 after three free. Listed merchants such as Facebook Ads and Discord add 1.5% (minimum $0.50) after three free payments a month.

RedotPay Card ATM withdrawal fees

RedotPay Card charges 2% on ATM withdrawals with the regular account, and annual RedotPay Pro waives that fee on the first $1,000 a month.

A $200 withdrawal on the regular account costs $4 in RedotPay's ATM fee, before the conversion fee and any charge from the ATM owner. With Pro, $1,000 of monthly withdrawals saves $20.

On the USD card the rate rises to 3% once you pass $10,000 of withdrawals in a month. Limits are three withdrawals and $3,750 a day, and $50,000 a month.

Is RedotPay Card safe?

RedotPay Card is custodial: your crypto sits in your RedotPay account, and RedotPay converts it when you pay.

RedotPay describes the product as a stablecoin-based card that works wherever major networks are accepted. RedotPay is registered as a virtual asset service provider (No. 144) with Argentina's securities regulator, the CNV.

With a custodial balance, you depend on RedotPay to stay solvent and keep withdrawals open, so keep only what you plan to spend on the card.

Who should get RedotPay Card

RedotPay Card suits people in countries that few crypto cards reach, and anyone who needs a physical card with ATM access.

For everyday spending RedotPay Card is expensive, because on $1,000 a month in the default currency the conversion fee alone is $10, or $120 a year, before the card fee.

RedotPay Pro pays off only if you put at least about $360 a month through Apple Pay or Google Pay. At that level, 3% is $10.80 a month, which covers the $129 yearly price.
