Ledger CL Card โ€” CL Card

Ledger CL Card suits Ledger owners who want to spend some crypto, especially abroad, where the 0% FX fee helps. The 2% spend fee is double the 1% cashback, so every payment costs about 1% net.

  • 0% FX fee on in-store payments in foreign currencies
  • No issuance fee for the virtual or physical card
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay in every region

Watch out

  • 2% card spend fee is double the 1% cashback
  • ATM withdrawals cost โ‚ฌ2.50 at home and โ‚ฌ3 plus 1.5% abroad
  • CL disclosed a breach of US customer data on October 1, 2026
  • Crypto moved to the card is no longer in your Ledger's self-custody

Ledger CL Card is a crypto debit card from Ledger and CL, a card platform built with Baanx, that spends crypto you move over from your Ledger wallet. It has no issuance fee and no FX fee on in-store payments, charges 2% on every card payment and pays 1% back in bitcoin.

Ledger CL Card comes as two regional programs. In the US it is a Visa debit card in dollars, issued by Cross River Bank. Elsewhere it is a euro card, with fees for Europe and the UK set out in a fee document from Monavate. Pick your country at the top of the page and every table below shows the terms for that program.

Ledger CL Card cashback

Ledger CL Card pays 1% back on card payments on its only plan, with no staking, no subscription and no published monthly cap.

Rewards are paid monthly in bitcoin or in a stablecoin, USDC in the US and USDT elsewhere. CL's FAQ adds a 2% rate if you take rewards in BXX, the token of Baanx, the company behind CL, while spending funded through Cryptodraft earns nothing.

The 1% has to be weighed against the 2% card spend fee. On โ‚ฌ1,000 of spending you earn โ‚ฌ10 in bitcoin and pay โ‚ฌ20 in fees, so the card costs about 1% net. At 2% in BXX the reward would match the fee, but you'd be paid in BXX and need to sell it to get anything else.

Ledger CL Card fees

Ledger CL Card charges a 2% card spend fee on every payment, according to CL's platform fee schedule, but no issuance fee and no FX fee on in-store payments abroad.

The 2% applies to every asset, stablecoins included, and the same schedule also lists a separate 1.75% crypto-to-fiat fee.

FX is the card's strong point. Monavate's fee document sets 0% on foreign-currency payments, and the US schedule lists $0 for international payments in shops. The US schedule does list card-not-present fees of $2.50 for domestic and $3 for international online payments. On a $20 online order, a $2.50 fee works out to 12.5%.

The card is free to issue in both regions, and a replacement costs โ‚ฌ5 in Europe and $30 in the US. Loading the card from a bank card costs โ‚ฌ0.60 plus 2.49%, and sending crypto out costs 0.4% to 0.5%.

Ledger CL Card ATM withdrawal fees

Ledger CL Card charges โ‚ฌ2.50 per ATM withdrawal at home and โ‚ฌ3 plus 1.5% abroad; in the US the fees are $2.50 at home and $3 plus 2% abroad.

For โ‚ฌ200 at home, the ATM fee is โ‚ฌ2.50, or 1.25%. Abroad, the same โ‚ฌ200 costs โ‚ฌ6: โ‚ฌ3 flat plus โ‚ฌ3 for the 1.5%. With the 2% spend fee on top, the totals reach โ‚ฌ6.50 and โ‚ฌ10 before any charge from the ATM owner.

A balance check at an ATM costs โ‚ฌ0.35. There is no free monthly allowance, so fewer, larger withdrawals keep the flat fee down.

Is Ledger CL Card safe?

Ledger CL Card is custodial: crypto you move to the card leaves your Ledger wallet and is held by CL.

CL's FAQ says this directly: funds moved to the card are no longer self-custodied. Your Ledger device protects only what stays in the wallet. You can link up to five wallets, and the card supports BTC, LTC, XRP, Ethereum mainnet and Solana (receive only), with no layer-2 networks.

In the US the card is issued by Cross River Bank. The European fee and issuer terms come from Monavate.

On October 1, 2026, CL disclosed that an unauthorized party used a third-party provider's access to reach personal data of certain US users, including names, addresses, dates of birth and Social Security numbers. CL says there is no evidence funds were accessed. It reset passwords and two-factor authentication on affected accounts, and cards kept working. Move only spending money to the card and leave savings on the Ledger device.

Who should get Ledger CL Card

Ledger CL Card suits Ledger owners who want to spend part of their crypto, particularly when travelling, since the 0% FX fee keeps the net cost abroad at about 1%.

At home the card costs about 1% net on every payment, because the 2% spend fee is twice the cashback. That works out to about โ‚ฌ10 for every โ‚ฌ1,000 you spend.

If you mainly want rewards from everyday spending, a card with a lower spend fee will return more. The comparison below shows the alternatives in your country.
